Hillstown Jr. Grange #87 Corr: Michelle DeDominicis Wow - summer sure did go by quickly - School is already back in session and we are harvesting what is left of our gardens. A BIG Thank You!! to all those that participated in the Luncheon held on 7/31 during the CWA craft contests – we raised over $300 towards the State Junior Granger Fund!

Junior Grange News: Notes from Ekonk Jr. Grange

In May, Ekonk Community Junior Grange gave a Sterling 5th grader, and her family a check for $916.00. This child has lost a leg, just above her knee from a rare form of cancer. We had a spaghetti supper and a plant sale, as well as some donations to raise this money.

Junior Goals ...

As always, increasing and improving the number of Junior Grangers in the State. The Junior Grange Motto is Improvement. The Motto for the Connecticut Junior Grange is "Junior Grange Members Unite."

State Junior Projects ...

• Right to Read Book Project- Collection and distribution of books to children who are less fortunate, for them to keep.

• Pet Food Project- Provide pet food, old blankets, kitty litter and other items to local animal shelters.

• Connecticut Junior Day at the Big E.

2016 Connecticut Theme:
Junior Grange Members Unite

The Judging for the Big E contests will be held during "Let's Celebrate" / Grange Sunday and at State Session in October.
